AI is not only for the tech folks
That was the whole idea behind my session with the members of Rajkot Management Association Business owners and individual experts, mostly from non-technical backgrounds. And honestly, I didn't know…

I repeat: hackers are using AI now. So your defence has to use AI too
One day, one of our tiny AI apps got almost 5,000 requests. Its real users send <50 in a month. When we dug in -> Bots. Almost all of them. Hunting for our secret keys. They found nothing. Someone…
Why are you here?
That was my first question to the room at the Rajkot.Tech AI Meetup. Curiosity? Ship faster? "My job is safe... right?" Or to prove it's hype? Because your motive decides what you take home. So glad…
Security in AI products needs to be next level
Check the two questions in the images. Looks fine, doesn't it? The first one has 2 hidden characters. The second one, just "Hello How are you", has 165. You can't spot them. The AI still reads them.…

Last month, India bought more CNG, hybrid and electric cars than petrol ones. First time ever. Alternative fuels 41.95%, petrol 40.85%. To be fair, CNG is doing most of the work here. CNG 25%, hybrid…
Fewer freshers are getting jobs. And AI is one reason
We can complain about it. Or we can help them master it. GDG Rajkot gave me a chance to do the second one. A hall full of students and a session on how we actually use AI to build production software…
Them: Which AI model should we use?
Us: Which task? At Artisans, we regularly take one real task and run the leading models through it. Same prompt, same data, answers checked one by one. This time: describing and tagging 41 images. 9…
Most personal websites look the same
Photo. Bio. A row of social links. Mine was exactly that for a long. Now, I made it a desk instead. The idea is not mine. I picked it up from Jackie Hu's and fuyofulo's personal sites, where the…
The laptop is inside my bag right now. And it is still working
Everyone has a trick to keep the Mac lid open so their coding harness doesn't stop mid-task. This is mine. A clip, and just enough gap. Not for the screen. For the air. Not the prettiest thing in my…
Looks at the list of charges for my tickets
All these are for various government and aviation compliance, including the CUTE charge :D But then, on top of it, how do they add a "convenience charge" is a question Because price comparison is the…
Injuries happen. Here and there, in almost every season
But still, this sport is our love. And we never miss a chance to enjoy it. Rotary Premier League is very close to my heart. It starts with the auction - who goes to which team and at what price. And…
I stopped trusting Chrome extensions. So I built my own with AI
One popup, only the things I actually use - GDPR banners gone. Feeds hidden on YouTube, X and LinkedIn. Save to reading list, copy an article as Markdown, JSON formatter. Nothing new. All of this…
Years of hunching over a laptop hurt my back
So my home setup now follows one rule - the screen sits at eye level. A simple stand lifts the laptop up. The keyboard and mouse sit below. That is it. Ergonomic, they call it. And my back finally…
Imagine a machine counts your stock for you
Then you count it all again bcs you can't trust what it said. That was the reality at Starbucks. They put computer vision in 11k+ stores to track inventory. Every wrong scan, the staff had to catch…
Apron Wale Aashiq
Cooking is a life skill, and everyone should know it well. But it is still on my wishlist only. Someday. Had a chance to live it for half a day with friends in one of our Rotary Club events. And as…
DevOps with AI to save 💲
One of the biggest ROI things that happened against our investment in Claude Code subscriptions is this one. A few detailed sessions to share all the details + access, and then seeing these powerful…
The best way to learn is to teach
I was fortunate enough to share my recent experience and learnings about Claude Code with the team members and some guests last week. And I just want to keep doing this. Here's to many more...
You shouldn't choose AI models by vibes. Measure
For Lumen, we built an evaluation harness that runs real business questions through the assistant, executes the generated query against a real data source, and checks that the answer is actually…
Bad people are using GenAI
Just as most experts have been expecting. Recently, 75% of auto lenders reported that identified fraud increased over the prior 12 months. A fake borrower with a made-up credit history, a real Social…
A request to all of you friends
Please do not use Cotton Ear Buds to clean your ears. You don't need them. You're inviting problems by using them. Here are the words of an ENT specialist from Mumbai
Indians love Cricket
And we felt it this time. 100% participation from the Rajkot team. And a couple of guests 💙 Hard-hitting, tension, good fielding, tight bowling, all in a single day! Congrats to Code Strikers for the…
Continuous Integration. Continuous Delivery. Continuous… Refactoring?
CI/CD has been there for years. AI have made one more thing possible. Continuous Refactoring. And it solves one of the biggest pains of maintaining software - Legacy codebases. Almost no company can…
I am sceptical about this trend in software engineering
People are not talking enough about "Automation" but jumping now to "Autonomous". They 'wish' to just let coding agents build and maintain systems. After looking at a few random reels from…
A few days back, my laptop just froze hard. Had to force power off
I feared it was a hardware issue. Asked Claude Code to walk through the system logs with me. Twenty minutes later, details revealed. It detected that the machine had quietly been running out of…

After working on multiple AI projects, one thing I have realised is that we should be investing a good amount of effort into the transparency of the process, from input to output. They call it…

Solving the actual user problem is the key to success
We all know Apple does that well. 'User Call Screening' is a god-gift. Phone spamming is prevalent in India, and you get lots of calls from legitimate numbers. This helps me avoid them. 'iOS Hold…
Enterprises are challenging
Compliance Governance Processes What not! It takes a lot of work to cross all the hurdles. Most people need solutions, but are not ready to go above and beyond their day-to-day work to do the…

This new agent coding makes browser automation work really well
In the past, automating website tasks like online payments and tax payments was tough. But now, thanks to this agent and CDP with Chromium, you can connect them. It easily figures out website…
Oracle AI World Tour - Mumbai
Had a chance to meet some of the brightest minds at this event. Oracle is pushing hard on enabling AI into all layers, and it shows. Great work.

After building on a few simpler web applications, I think we've found this nice balance of having a statically hosted front-end (React or even static HTML) and going with a simpler backend just using…
Coding is even more fun with the 'GitHub Copilot coding agent'
I know the name doesn't tell you what it does, but it is a big shift in the way we build software. It is fun because you don't touch the code at all. Everything happens remotely. You just ask for the…

Did you know that Toyota had to recall 9 million cars in 2009?
Billions in losses. A damaged reputation that took years to rebuild. The root cause? A breakdown in quality standards and specifications. When data products lack clear specifications, teams build…
You win some! and lose others
But what is left behind are the connections, memories, and sometimes - `I should have hit that harder` feelings. 😅 Grateful to the Rajkot IT Association and the core team for arranging the cricket…

We built a small CMS for the TabsyPOS user guide

Through the years, I have always felt that AWS is complex
But now with GenAI, I find it easier to understand parts. For example, a simple Google search of 'Fargate vs Beanstalk' and the AI Overview section gives very helpful info. And the same is to…
